The National Film Awards constitute the most prestigious and highest accolades that are awarded to the filmmakers for their work in cinema in India. Awarded since 1954, the award includes a range of recognition for creative and technical achievement in feature films, non-feature films and the field of film criticism.
The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards, which honour films released in 2024, were announced on 18 July 2026. The award ceremony will take place on 22 September 2026 in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, India.
