SSC CHSL 2019 : Exam Dates, Notification, Exam Pattern

SSC CHSL stands for staff selection commission combined higher secondary level examination. The examination will consist of a Computer-based Written Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Typing Test/Skill Test (Tier-III) Examination for the post of Data Entry Operator, Postal Assistant & Sorting Assistant (PA/SA), Lower Division Clerk and Court Clerk. Every year, a large number of eligible candidates give this examination with a sole dream to join Central Government body and avail all the perks imparted to them by the Government of India.

You will be glad to know that Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released SSC CHSL 2019 Notification on 5th Of March 2019. This recruitment includes the post of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) and Data Entry Operator(DEO). All the eligible candidates are hereby requested to go through the complete notification before filling the application form.

SSC CHSL 2019: Eligiblity Criteria

(a) Age limit
Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years as on 01-08-2019 (i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1992 and not later than 01-08-2001).

(b) Educational Qualification

Post Qualification Required
LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG) The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
 

Relaxation in upper age limit
There are various age relaxations provided by the exam conducting authority to the candidates belonging to the reserved category. The table below contains details about the age relaxations provided by SSC.

SSC CHSL 2019 : Exam Pattern
Mode of Examination : Examination will be held in a computer based pattern. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

SSC CHSL 2019 Tier-III (Skill Test/Typing Test)
Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.

Tier-III of the Examination would be the Skill Test/ Typing Test which would be of qualifying nature . The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-I and Tier-II.

Document verification (DV):
All the candidates qualified for Document Verification are required to appear for Document Verification along with the original documents.

SSC CHSL : Syllabus

The  Tier-I Examination  will  consist  of  Objective  Type, Multiple choice  questions  only.    The  questions  will  be  set  both  in  English  & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV.
The Computer-Based Written Test, as mentioned above, has four sections:
1.    English Language
2.    General Awareness
3.    Quantitative Aptitude
4.    General Intelligence

General Intelligence

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences ,Figural Classification ,Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de- coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations.

English Language:

Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.

Quantitative Aptitude:
Arithmetic:
1. Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers
2. Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.
Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.

Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts:
Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base
Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin20 + Cos20=1 etc.,
Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar- diagram, Pie-chart

General Awareness:

Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test  will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
 

SSC CHSL Tier II
As mentioned above, this paper requires candidates to write an essay and Letter/Application that tests the writing skills of the candidates. The essay topics will be related to National Interest, Finance & Economy, Ecological Issues, Social Issues, Politics, Schemes & Governance, Technology, Sports, Geopolitics, Environmental Concerns etc. While, the type of letter/ application asked will be Complaint, Suggestion, Application, Official Appreciation, Follow up or Feedback etc.

SSC CHSL Tier III

SSC CHSL : Application fee

Fee payable: Rs. 100/-(Rupees One Hundred only).Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa/ Mastercard/ Maestro Credit/ Debit card.
Women candidates of all categories and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ExS) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Steps to Download SSC CHSL 2019 Admit Card
The admit card will be out in the month of June 2019. Follow the steps given below to download hall ticket for SSC CHSL 2019.
•    Go to the Regional SSC website.
•    Enter Registration number and date of birth
•    Click on the link, “Download SSC CHSL 2019 Admit Card”
•    Download and take out at least two printouts of the Admit Card for future reference
The admit card will contain candidate’s ID and password which shall be required by him/her at the time of the examination to successfully log in.
