How To Prepare For IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Exam 2018
Almost all of you must be preparing for the IBPS RRB PO and Office Assistant exam. Notification for the IBPS RRB exam has released in last month and the preliminary exam is scheduled to be in next month (August) only. The benefit of this exam is that you are going to encounter only two sections at the preliminary level – Quantitative aptitude and Reasoning section with composite time of 45 minutes. It is advisable to take necessary steps to equip yourself to outdistance others. The overall level of this exam is usually easy to moderate. So, you should put in every possible effort to surpass the exam even if it is your first attempt. Here are some of the tips that you should follow as broad guidelines to fulfill your objectives .
The key to success is to be persistent. You should prepare the time table for study and strictly follow the same. If you study for ten hours a day and then do not study at all the next day, then it is of no use. It is better to study for a few hours regularly rather than to study irregularly. Do not procrastinate your work and try to finish the already decided chapters, the same day.
Work on your weak areas:
Each section has plenty of topics to understand and revise. It is possible that you are not skilled at all the topics. It’s the time when you need to devote yourself to the chapters in which you are not well versed with. As you are still left with a month to study, you must focus to clear the basics of the subject in which you are not proficient at. Hard work is fundamental to achieve success. Devote more time to the subject or the chapters that exert you the most. Hit the ball and you will definitely be successful.
Practice and master your strong areas:
Despite focusing only on the weak areas you should also practice your strong areas. Though you must not spend much time on those topics as you are already good in those but you should also not stop practicing otherwise it is possible that you may not solve the topics with increased speed. A little practice will rejuvenate you and will ultimately increase your speed and accuracy.
Reading newspapers regularly is must to transcend the exam. It will help you to prepare for your GA as well as English section. You will get to know the accurate sentence structures and increase your general knowledge. If you think that you will start preparing for the GA section after clearing the preliminary exam then you will not be able to recollect them at the time of the exam due to hastiness. It is better to take notes of the important news daily and revise them each week in order to remember them. You must also take quizzes regularly in order to keep a check on your performance.
Give equal importance to all the sections:
As the contenders are increasing each passing day and the number of vacancies are limited so you can’t afford to leave any section and rely on the other two sections. The pattern of the exams is always unpredictable and it is possible that you may encounter a totally different pattern of the questions that you are preparing for so long. If you have prepared equally for all the sections then you always have a back up even if you pattern of a specific section is totally changed.
Tips For Quantitative Aptitude Section:
It is considered to be the most scoring section among the three sections being asked in the preliminary exam. If you have practiced a lot of the different topics then attempting more than 90% questions will be a cup of tea for you. Even if you are not that good in this section then you must start from the basics. Learn the tables and cubes up to 20, squares up to 30. It will help you to increase the calculation speed and you will be able to solve the questions in less time. You must focus on the scoring chapters like Quadratic equations, Simplification and Approximation, Number Series, Data Interpretation etc. All these questions are usually asked in sets and will definitely help you to fetch full marks if you are well versed with basic topics like percentages, BODMAS rule etc. You must focus to score as many marks as you can in the section as the chances of accuracy are more in this section.
Tips For Reasoning Section:
This is considered to be the most interesting section by the students. There are no short cut techniques for this section. The practice is the only key for this section. Once you learn all the basics, then you must exercise regularly in order to increase speed and accuracy. The chapters you must give priority are Syllogism, Inequality, Blood Relations, Distance and Directions, Coding – Decoding etc. These will help you to maximize your attempts and score well. You must also solve a number of questions of puzzles and seating arrangement to master solving them in less time with better accuracy.
Tips For English Section:
You are not going to take the test of this section in the preliminary examination. Still, you must start preparing for this section in correspondence to other sections. This section is considered as the back – breaking section by the students. Reason for the same is that there is hesitation among the students to practice this section. As mentioned earlier, newspaper reading is the best way to see the practical applicability of the grammar rules.
Hopefully these tips will be helpful for you. Practice hard and grab the opportunity!
Hope you get a lucky break!
