1. Amit Shah unveils the statues of Lord Basaveshwara and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda in Bengaluru, Karnataka
  • Amit Shah unveiled the statues of Lord Basaveshwara ji and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda ji at the State Assembly premises in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Several dignitaries including the Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Basavaraj Bommai were present on the occasion.
  • He said that these statues will continue to give Basavanna ji and Kempegowda ji’s message of social justice, democracy, good governance and development to those who get elected in the assembly.

2. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Shri MK Stalin releases disaster management policy for 2023
  • The Chief Minister (CM) of Tamil Nadu (TN), Shri M.K. Stalin, released the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Plan, 2023, which lists out action plans to undertake in case of various natural and human-made disasters.
  • The plan lists detailed action plans to deal with disasters such as earthquakes, cyclones, tsunamis, floods, urban flooding, industrial and chemical disasters, biological and public health emergencies, nuclear and radiological disasters and fire.

3. PM inaugurates Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura Metro Line of Bangalore Metro
  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura Metro Line of Bangalore Metro today. He also took a ride in the newly inaugurated metro.
  • Upon arriving at Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station, the Prime Minister first purchased a ticket at the ticket counter and then took a walkthrough of the exhibition put up on the occasion. The Prime Minister then unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the White Field Metro Line and proceeded towards the platform to board the Metro. During his journey, he interacted with the workers and staff of Bangalore Metro.
4. India's highways infrastructure to match US by 2024
  •  India's highways infrastructure will match that of the US by 2024 for which work in time bound 'mission mode' is on including construction of green expressways and rail over bridges,
  • The Road Transport and Highways Minister said in this year railway over bridges are being constructed at a cost of Rs 16,000 crore which will be increased to Rs 50,000 crore in five years.
5. Cheetah Sasha dies due to kidney ailment in Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park
  • Namibian cheetah Sasha died due to a kidney ailment on March 27, at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park (KNP). The more than four-and-a-half years old female cheetah was among the eight cheetahs translocated from Namibia and housed in the KNP in Sheopur district since September 17.
  • Two cheetahs released into wild at M.P.’s Kuno National Park. "Cheetah Sasha passed away due to a kidney problem as her creatinine level was very high," Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF-Wildlife) J.S. Chauhan told PTI.

6. Government of India launched National Rabies Control Program (NRCP) for prevention and control of Rabies
  • The Central Government has launched the National Rabies Control Programme (NRCP) for prevention and control of Rabies recently.

National Rabies Control Program Strategy:-

  • Provision of Rabies Vaccine and Rabies Immune Globulin through National Free Drug Initiative.
  • Training on proper management of animal bites, prevention and control of rabies, surveillance and inter-sectoral coordination.
  • Strengthening monitoring of reporting of animal bites and rabies deaths.
  • Awareness about prevention of rabies.
 
7. Cochin Shipyard Ltd bags International Order for World’s First Zero-Emission Feeder Container Vessels
  • India’s leading shipbuilder, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Cochin received an order from NAVSHUTTLE 1 AS and NAVSHUTTLE 2 AS, Lysaker Norway for the design and construction of 2 Zero Emission Feeder Container Vessels with an option for 2 more vessels.The cost of the project is approximately Rs 550 crore.
  • The project is one of the world’s first Zero Emission Feeder Container Vessels powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cells with Green Hydrogen.The order was received from companies in Samskip Group, headquartered in the Netherlands.

8. Former Brazilian President Mrs Dilma Rousseff elected as new President of BRICS Bank 
  • The Board of Governors of the New Development Bank (NDB) also known as BRICS bank unanimously elected former president of Brazil Mrs. Dilma Vana Rousseff as the President of the NDB. She will be President of the NDB until 2025. She succeeded Mr Marcus Troyjo who stepped down as the president of NDB on 24th Mar, 2023.

9. NDTV appoints former SEBI Chairman UK Sinha and business leader Dipali Goenka as Independent Directors
  • U K Sinha and Dipali Goenka have been appointed Independent Directors of NDTV for a period of two years effective from March 27, 2023. The appointment is based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and subject to the approval of shareholders and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
  • U K Sinha has also been designated as Non-Executive Chairperson of NDTV.UK Sinha, a former bureaucrat, served as the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) between 2011 and 2017.

10. Intel co-founder & Creator of ‘Moore’s Law Gordon Moore Passed away 
  • Intel Corporation co-founder, Gordon Earle Moore who is hailed as a pioneer for his work in the semiconductor industry and Silicon Valley has passed away at the age of 94 in Hawaii, United States (US).
  • He initially served as executive vice president until 1975, then he became president of Intel.In 1979, he was named chairman and CEO of Intel, posts he held until 1987.In 1997, he became chairman emeritus,stepping down in 2006. Notably, over his lifetime Moore has donated more than $5.1 billion to charitable causes through the foundation which he set up with his wife Betty, over two decades ago.
