About SBI PO Test

The competitive exam comprises two successive exam; SBI PO-Pre & SBI PO-Mains. After clearing these two tests, the candidate will move to the interview for the final selection.

1. SBI PO Preliminary Exam Pattern                           

It consists of a paper of objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 100 marks to be solved in duration of 1hr.

This is a screening test only to qualify for the next step and its marks will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The scheme of this test is given below in a table.

Note: - As per official Notification, descriptive papers of only those students would be evaluated, who qualify the objective mains exam.

Marks obtained in Objective as well as Descriptive tests will be added in the final Merit list along with marks of Group discussion & Interview.

3.SBI PO Interview & Group Discussion                 50 Marks

The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the objective tests and the descriptive tests will be arranged in descending order in each category. the candidates who clear the SBI PO cutt off score of the Main examination would then be called for a Group discussion and Personal interview test where the candiadates will have to face an interview board. The final merit list would be released on the basis of the candidates performance in the Mains and interview.

5. SBI PO Selection Process

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE& Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.
The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Exercises &Interview out of 100 for each category. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
Results of the candidates who have qualified for Group Exercises & Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank's website.

7. SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification – Under SBI PO Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2017 Candidates must have completed their Graduation Degree from any recognized  university or institution. Participants also required their mark sheet numbers while they submit SBI PO online form 2017.

Nationality / Citizenship – Participants must have this citizenship which is given below.

  • Citizen of Indian
  • Citizen of Nepal
  • Citizen of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee
  • Migrated Peoples from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit – Interested candidates must have age between 21 – 30 years.
